Here are a few random pictures from our last week or two here. Mostly I'm just keeping busy posting while Jer does the dishes and Chris does some reading. This was the Ethiopian Easter at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre/roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre...

Sleeping Goats at the Ophel Archeological Park (they were making some sort of film while we were there and had some props around the museum???)

Cemetry outside the East Wall of the Old City

My favourite Church to take pictures in (Bethlehem)...

The Garden of Gethsemane in bloom

Our hostel in Galilee...

St. George's monastry in the Judean Desert...

Mom -- is this the right kind of picture? Something like that?

Spring in the Galilee...

Sunday, April 09, 2006

Hello everyone. I have a bit of time now to post some pictures before we leave for a few days and head up north. We have been very busy. Below are some pictures from Bethlehem...

Today we headed up to Bethany to "Lazarus' tomb". Below are some ruins from an old Crusader tower, the next picture is mom in the tomb.

We walked from Bethany to the Mount of Olives. This is where we came out of Bethany -- the hole in the security wall (you can see the Israeli soldiers keeping watch)

I thought this picture was funny because it looks posed -- but it's not...

We stopped for a rest on top of the Mount of Olives and showed Mom and Dad the view...

This was the Palm Sunday procession that we took part in for fun. It was a long hike up and down the Mount of Olives with a huge number of people (the crowd went all the way up the hill, round the corner and up the hill some more) They are expecting 90,000 people to visit Jerusalem this week...

I guess that's all I have time for now, more after Galilee...
