It has been a great summer so far -- Jer and I have been playing softball games during the week, and then have had visitors most weekends! Here are some pictures.
Mom and Dad had some meetings in Toronto so they came by for a few days in early July. We spent some time with Chris in Kitchener/Waterloo at St. Jacobs and then all came back to Hamilton.

Below is our garden. We have the front section and it was lovely until the possum devoured all of our cucumbers and a lot of our peppers. We still have more tomatoes and basil then we know what to do with though. My impatiens which are not blooming too much right now.

Felix - our cat for two weeks
Heidi came for about a week in August. We had so much fun. We headed to Canada's wonderland where I rode a children's rollercoaster; a completely horrifying experience, but Heidi and the people in front of us had a good laugh at me. We had a picnic in the parking lot - nothing like eating gouda in 35 degree heat sitting on hot cement.
After riding the childrens rollercoaster we took a seniors casino bus tour to Niagra Falls.

winning big We also went to a Blue Jays/Yankees game where I ate my first hot dog in over 10 years. yummThe next weekend Eric and Traci (some friends from Israel) drove up from Wisconsin to see us. We had a great time catching up. Too bad this picture is so dark. We did some shopping in Toronto - there is a great antique/flea market downtown.

I had a big suprise last week when I found out that Jesse and Lucas (two of my boys from N Jersey) were going to be in Niagra falls and the Toronto area for two days. I met them at the falls and spent the entire day there. It was great. They are getting so old, and tall -- it's hard to believe I used to pick them both up at the same time when we would play games.

I guess that's it for now.

Here (finally) are some pictures of our place, when it was relatively clean. It does look different now because i've moved some things around and "de-cluttered" since i took these pictures . I finally put two pictures up on the one wall, but the other walls are still pretty empty as you can see. I haven't taken the christmas lights down yet either...
Our 'furnishings' are all kind of random (but what else is
new)and some are in the middle of being repainted or waiting to have cusions made etc etc... I can't wait for the weather to warm up and i can take them all outside with the sander.I've taken pictures from several (excessive)different angles so you can piece it together.I've since planted a suitcase in front of the fireplace, you know, for the bats.high ceilings make for bare walls Jer's modest work place (the other end of the living room - which also contains our bedroom closets) -- someday he will have a proper office. and into the kitchen...
If you look closely you can see a picture of Doris on the fridge -- always a reminder to be thankful for my very own kitchen. And our tiny bathroom -- there is no showerhead over the toilet in this one though.
Anyway, that's the tour of the place right now. still have some work to do and stuff to put up, (ie. my lamps - not sure where to put them). We're waiting for a lot of you to come see it in person...
Here's the view from our front window. It looked like Manitoba!! The backyard.

I'm glad this picture is a little fuzzy -- it is just too disgusting to look at. Anyway it's true, I woke up to the screeching of a bat above my head so naturally, I started sleeping with a tennis raquet, in my hand. Well Jer has a wicked forehand (he got it right out of the air after one or two swings and a few sleepless nights)-- and now my old tennis raquet is officially retired. Look at all that fur-- so gross.

And while I'm here, I hope Declan, Evan, Heidi, and Traci (i'll email on my next day off) had/have a great birthday!!!
